Adults at high
risk from flu are also most at risk from COVID-19 and the free flu vaccine is
more important than ever, to help protect the nation from a double threat this
winter. This year, the NHS flu vaccination is available for everyone aged
50 and over. You can get vaccinated at your GP surgery or a pharmacy offering a
flu vaccine service.
As you get older, there is a higher chance flu may develop into pneumonia. Flu viruses change each year, so it’s important to have your jab annually, and as early as possible. If you are over 65, ask your GP about the pneumo jab too. This one-off vaccination helps protect you against pneumonia, meningitis and septicaemia.
